David Haynes has worked on a variety of stranded gas monetisation technologies and projects during his 28 years in the natural gas industry. His main expertise is in the liquefaction and importation of LNG both for conventional onshore projects and for emerging floating and offshore projects. He also has knowledge and expertise in small and mid-scale LNG and some experience of CNG and GTL.
David has spent 16 years working full-time on LNG and has provided technical/project development expertise on projects worldwide. His project portfolio has been fully international encompassing 16 import projects in Europe, the Caribbean, US and Asia plus 6 liquefaction projects in North and sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and floating technologies for Australia, Gulf of Mexico/Caribbean and West Africa. He has also provided specialised commercial advice and provided due diligence expertise on a variety of LNG projects. He has spent recent years with a focus on floating LNG (both FLNG production and FSRU) including technology management of a FLNG project pre-FEED, 6 due diligence assignments and 3 projects as an owner’s engineer on projects ranging from the Americas, through West Africa to offshore Australia.
David is a regular speaker and chairman at LNG conferences and has led and contributed to workshops and training courses for a variety of clients and training organisations over the last 10 years.
Much of David’s previous career has been spent with BG Group, Advantica and more latterly with GL Noble Denton. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath, and also has qualifications in international enterprise and project finance. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the UK Institute of Chemical Engineers.
